The First of Many!

Hi everyone

Well this is the first entry into this blog, and I have to say it is a rather unusual feeling. The question that I asked myself before I began was..."Where should I start? There is so much to say!" Quite ironically, this is the same question that gets asked by many of the people that I help everyday..."What do I need to do to get in shape?"Often the question gets asked due to the large amount of often conflicting information that is out there today about how to lose weight, what to eat, how to tone up and how to be healthy. But most of the time the question is really "How do I get started?"

Most of us know what we should do, we know that we should eat healthy foods in moderation several times a day. And most of know that we should be active. We should participate in some sort of structured activity for at least 30 minutes per day and then move as much as possible in between. But many of us get stuck there because there is a BIG difference in knowing what you should do and actually doing it.So my question to overcome my predicament (and my question to you if any of the above was sounding quite familiar!) is "What is most important?" What are the most important things for me to say on this blog that will get peoples attention and allow me to best help people get fitter, happier and healthier as a result of reading my blog. And the same question goes for you...."What is most important in your life to help you lead a happy and fulfilling life?" Many people would say that health and fitness is essential to a happy and healthy life, and I have to say I agree with them!

So I thought the most important thing for me to say on my first entry is a bit about me and what I do. I am a personal trainer and I love what I do. Everyday, my job is to put a smile on someones face. More specifically, a smile on the face of a Bride to be, a Groom or a member of the Bridal Party. I help people make sure they have an amazing wedding day. In the lead up to the wedding, I take care of your health and fitness routine, ensuring you stick to the timeline set by the date, your dress fittings and the chaotic schedule you might keep in preparing all the other elements of your wedding. I also help you manage your stress in the lead up to the big day. Through great and enjoyable training (and a bit of boxing) the training allows you to release your stress and you get a good surge of feel good hormones after to ensure the feeling doesn't wear off too quickly. On the day, the training is absolutely all worth it because I will help YOU look absolutely amazing, feel confident and have the happiest day ever with the knowledge that you are in better health and fitness to start a new chapter of your life.

I have many years of experience and training to back me up. I originally trained in Western Australia, 8 years ago. Shortly after I relocated myself to London, to see the world and work at the same time. After the launch of Bridal Fitting Personal Training in London and many years of valuable personal training experience there, I was offered a position to teach others how to be world class personal trainers in Spain. I accepted this offer and was with the European Institute of Fitness for two and half years, gaining more knowledge and training than before. And now, I return to WA, to launch Bridal Fitting Personal Training in Australia and to get married myself...exciting times!

But that is enough about me, I think the question I need to ask you is: "Is what you defined as important earlier, important enough to ensure that you either start doing something about it or to continue to do something about it no matter what happens?" Think of all the things you will gain if you do decide it is important enough. Now consider all the things you will have to deal with if it isn't important enough, has the level of importance changed? If you are currently not happy with your weight and losing weight is important to you and you dont make any changes to your lifestyle soon, where will you be in 12 months? Even more unhappy? However, if you decide now, that this is it, you need to start doing something once and for all, and you do make some positive changes to your activity levels and the foods you eat, where will you be in 12 months? More energetic, happier with yourself, proud of yourself and looking good? Which of these two scenarios would you prefer?

I think I have written enough for one blog, but these questions are really important to ask yourself and to follow up on. In my next blog, I will try and help you answer some of these questions and take action where you think it is suitable. If you want them answered sooner however, just contact me and I promise I will do all I can to help. Just go to my website, wwww.bridalfittingpt.com and go to Contact Us for my contact details.

Until then, take care and thanks for reading!
